7 teams showed up to the Corpus Christi Invite 2019 held by the Corpus Christi Yacht Club. Racing began at 1005 in Corpus Christi Marina with winds averaging 12-16 knots and fluctuating 5-10 degrees in each race and between 115 bearing to 135 bearing until 1335. 4 races in A Division and 4 races in B Division were completed before the storm brought lightening. The regatta went into postponement until 1445. Weather cleared and wind was now averaging 11-12 knots and fluctuating 5-10 degrees in each race and between 110 bearing to 130 bearing for the last 4 races of the day. The courses consisted of W1’s and W2’s throughout the day. Many thanks to the owners of Drinking Bird for loaning their boat as a signal boat for the regatta and to Landry's Seafood House for allowing the sailors to be shielded by the weather on their back porch. Also thank you Brad Tindall and Islander Sailing Alumni: Robert Moreno, Nathan Waguespack and Shelly Waguespack for helping with Race Committee.
