Sailors were greeted to a strong north breeze gusting into the mid 20s with very large waves. With the forecast calling for the breeze to slowly die, the RC opted to keep the fleet ashore for a short while.
Around 11am racing got underway. While still quite wavy and choppy, the breeze gradually dropped throughout the day from 15-18 knots down to 10-12. 5 races were sailed before a lunch break, followed by the final 5 races of the day.
A big thanks to the Tulane team for running a great event. Congratulations to the University of New Orleans on winning the 2019 Baldwin Wood, marking their first event and victory since restarting their program earlier this season.
