Top 9 Regatta Coed

Summary

Saturday, September 22:

Sailors reported to the Washington Sailing Marina at 12PM. A quick coaches meeting followed and then 36 boats were launched. The race course was set at Hains Point. Conditions were ideal with NNW winds from 5-12mph. The Women's Regatta sailed in the GW z420's and the Coed regatta sailed in the Georgetown FJ's. Racing was close and the strong current made for some interesting windward mark rounding. 8 races were completed by 5PM. There were no breakdowns.

Sunday, September 23:

Sailors and coaches reported at 9AM. Two protests were heard that were both disallowed. Conditions were cool and rainy with NE winds blowing down the Potomac from the Capital Building. Sailors launched and headed up to Hains Point where 6 coed and 5 Women's races were run. The wind was NNE from 7-11mph. The current was again strong running down the river creating some havoc at the Windward mark. The Women's regatta sailed the Georgetown FJ's and the Coed regatta sailed in the GW z420's. Racing was completed by 1PM.

Congrats to Georgetown for winning the regatta.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
