Fall Fury

Saturday, September 9:

Our new fleet of 420E's were utilized competitively today in their first regatta on Lake Mendota. A division completed 8 races while B division completed 6 races. The sailors experienced 5-10 knots of breeze coming the southeast all day. First warning for race 7B is scheduled for 9:30 tomorrow morning. Forecast shows similar winds conditions for tomorrow and we plan to have another long and competitive day of sailing. Thank you to PRO Kate Klement for completing 14 fair races today. Congratulations to Milwaukee B division for winning all of its races today, putting their team in first place at the end of racing today.

Sunday, September 10:

4 more A division races and 6 more B division races were completed today for a total of 12 races each sailed for this regatta. Wind conditions were similar to the day before, 5-10 knots from the southeast. The final standings were still up in there going into the final race, as can be seen in the final scores with a tie for third in A division, two point separation between first and third in B divsion, and 1 point difference overall for second and third. Congratulations again to UW Milwaukee for winning 15 of the 24 races, along with the regatta. Thanks again to PRO Kate Klement for getting in so many great races, and thanks to all of the volunteers who worked on and off the water to keep the regatta running smoothly. Thanks as well to Brendan Boylan for serving as the chief judge.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
