Central Fall Open

Saturday, October 15:

This morning teams were greeted with temperatures in the mid 50's and a north easterly breeze of about 10 knots. After a 9:30 skippers meeting sailors made their way to the race course for a 10:00 AM first start. Racing started off smoothly on the Shrewsbury River with a consistent breeze until approximately 11:30 when wind clocked to the east causing a course adjustment. The wind began shifting heavily resulting in more course adjustments, but a determined race committee made the necessary adjustments and kept races moving. A total of six races were sailed in each division. No protests were heard. Currently leading the regatta are the Fordham Rams followed by the Stevens Ducks and U. Penn Quakers, respectively.

Sunday, October 16:

Sunday morning brought warmer temperatures in the low 60's and light and variable winds. After a brief competitors meeting at 9:15 racing was postponed shortly until 10:00. Winds built to 10 knots out of the south west with gusts up to 16 knots. A couple of capsizes occurred and no protests were heard. 5 races were sailed in each division today for a total of 11 races in A division and 11 races in B division for the regatta. Congratulations to the winning team, the Fordham Rams followed by the Stevens Ducks in second and the Pennsylvania Quakers in third. Also, a huge thanks to all the volunteers and Shrewsbury Sailing and Yacht Club for their support this weekend!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
