Captain Hurst Bowl

Summary

Saturday, October 17:

Most of the details are included in the Sunday report. A great day of racing! Thanks for the RC who were freezing!

Sunday, October 18:

Two great days of sailing at the Captain Hurst Bowl! As always, Mrs. Hurst was on hand with her baked goods (not slowing down even after her 90th birthday this September!), and our Big Green parents were spectating.

Saturday racing was brisk and shifty, with wind ranging 5-15 knots from a range of about 60 degrees. Sunday was colder, with temps in the mid-20s as teams arrived. Cold and windy, Sunday was burly with several snow showers throughout the day. Long shifts were the story of the day, although some miracle righties were out there as well.

Thank you to RC members from the Big Green, John Brady, and Will Strehlow UVM'09, all of whom were on hand for what can only be accurately described as a thankless job. Jury members Bernie Roesler D'12, Alex Arntsen UVM'12, and Ian Storck D'15 for their duty meting out justice, along Greg Wilkinson from BC. Congrats to the BC Eagles for the win.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
