Summary

Saturday, September 13:

Sailors reported to Lake Mendota at 0830. Temperature started off in the 40s and climbed throughout the day to the upper-60s and sunny by the afternoon. Wind was 8-10 knots from the north for the first race at 1000 and consistently died and became shifty from the north-northwest for 5 races until the regatta went into postponement at 1300. At 1530, the regatta was taken out of postponement and A fleet sent back out for race 4A. Races were ended for the day at around 1730, having completed through 4A. No protest, redress or breakdown filed. Thank you to Phil Morley for serving as PRO.

Sunday, September 14:

Sailors reported to Lake Mendota at 0830. The day started with temps in the 40s but progressively climbed into the upper-60s, similar to Saturday. The wind was from the south-southwest at 9-10 knots and was very shifty. The regatta resumed with B division going out to finish their second set and it continued through 8B. The conditions remained steady throughout the event and racing occurred until 1430 when B division finished their last race. There was one protest and one breakdown filed. Awards were presented and the regatta concluded at 1545. Thank you for Ian Walter for being PRO and to Dave Elsmo, Cappy Capper and Geoff Pedrick for serving as judges. Huge thanks to all the teams that attended, especially University of South Florida.
