Eleven MCSA teams came to Chicago Yacht Club for the 68th annual Timme Angsten Memorial Regatta. The western wind made the course very challenging with puffs and shifts that were often hard to predict. Each fleet had a front and rear pack which gave all competitors close racing throughout the day. Racing for the day ended after 5 A and 4 B sets, allowing competitors time to prepare for the Butterball.
The 68th Timme Angsten was sailed at Chicago YC, Monroe Station. With a break in the polar vortex we had relatively warm sailing conditions. With 11 teams we were able to run 10 A division races on Saturday and 8 B division races. Great sailing by University of Michigan. The annual dinner was a huge success with over 52 sailors showing up for a great pre Thanksgiving feast.
Sunday’s forecast of rain and big breeze held off, with 3 B races and 1 A we were able to complete the round robin by 11 just as the first raindrops began to fall. Great sailing by U Mich and the Honey Badgers for battling it our for the top two spots.
Thanks to RC volunteers, Llyod Karzen, Bob Nutter, Mary Judd, Tanya Whitehead, Gerry Siebold, Chris Collins and Alina Dix.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
