RI States, 2nd Sister Esther Annual

Summary

Saturday, November 9:

Sailors gathered at Salve's Waterfront center for the second annual Sister Esther Open at 0930. The first race was started at 1030 in a WNW wind at 10-20kts. Breeze shifted west as the day progressed and 6 races were sailed in each division. Two protests were filed resulting in two DSQs. Special thanks to Skip White from URI and Ben Greenfield from Boston University for hearing protests. At the end of day one, the Coast Guard Bears have the lead!

Sunday, November 10:

Puffy conditions in Breton Cove again for day two of the 2nd Annual Sister Esther Open. Racing started at 1015 in breeze from the SW at 10-15 knots. The sun came out around lunch time to make for a great day. Six races were sailed in each division on W4 and W5 courses. One protest was heard resulting in a DSQ. Congratulations to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on their victory! Thanks to our PROs Kyle Carney '13 and Sarah Muzyka '12 for running a great event. Also big shout out to all of the Salve alumni, Tom McKenzie '13 and Peter Pellegrini '12, for helping move marks all weekend. Finally thanks to all of the coaches, parents and all of the Seahawks that made this event possible.
