Nicholas Barnett Trophy

Summary

Saturday, October 12:

It was a great day of racing down at Bethel Point. The breeze started out of the N/NE and gradually went to the east as the day went on. 8 A races and 6 B races were completed sailing W-3s, W-4s, and W-5s. A huge thanks to Fiona Gordon, Charlotte Williamson '15, and Emily Salitan '16 for running races all day and for Tom Charpentier '10 for helping with scoring. A big thanks to the large number of Polar Bear undergrads that helped with land operations and for coaches that heard two protests resulting in 2 DSQ's. Finally, we are truly thankful to the Barnett's who stayed true to tradition and provided some great food for the sailors.

Currently the Eagles lead the regatta followed by the Polar Bears and Jumbos. More racing tomorrow.

Sunday, October 13:

After a long delay this morning, the breeze finally filled in out of the S and settled in to a decent 5-10 knot SE breeze. Three A races and five B races we sailed, all of which were W-4s. A big thanks to Fiona Gordon, Dana Bloch '17, and Heidi Cao '16 for running races; Tom Charpentier '10 for helping with scoring; and Ayaka Okawa '14, Justin Wallace '17, and Charlotte Williamson for helping with land ops. A big thanks to the Barnett Family for all of their support this weekend.

The racing was very close amongst the top 4 teams with BC prevailing over Dartmouth and Bowdoin.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
