Maritime Fall Open

Summary

Saturday, September 21:

After a 1 hour wind delay to start the day, the forecasted southeasterly breeze began to fill and increased throughout the day. The first set was completed in 5-7 knots and the wind built progressively with each new set, peaking at 16-22 for the last A and B rotation. Racing was called after race 6B to save the sailors and the boats.

Looking forward to good breeze tomorrow and lots more races. After day 1 the Fordham Rams lead convincingly, and full scores can be found at http://scores.collegesailing.org/f13/maritime-fall-open/full-scores/

Sunday, September 22:

Six races were sailed in each division on the river today. The Fordham Rams led for the majority of the event but a pair of OCS's late in the series allowed HWS to steal the win in the final race. Two protests were filed resulting in two DSQs.

Thanks to the Maritime sailors for running twelve races in each division in tricky race management conditions on the East River and congrats to the HWS Statesmen and Herons for the big win.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
