Kilpatrick Regatta 2013

Summary

Saturday, October 19:

The University of Central Oklahoma Sailing Team and the Oklahoma City Boat Club were pleased to host the 2013 Kilpatrick Regatta after two years of low water either cancelled or moved the event to another venue. This regatta honors OCBC member Ann Kilpatrick, a UCO alumni and very strong supporter of youth/collegiate sailing in Oklahoma. It was also an opportunity for competitors to use the brand new Quantum sails acquired by UCO two years earlier. Sailors from eight teams representing seven universities began the racing in the unseasonably cool morning temperature and light wind, both of which increased throughout the day. The constantly shifting wind of Lake Hefner challenged both racers and the race committee in every race. Competition was tight with Oklahoma State University edging out Texas A&M University by one point to win the regatta. Kudos to PRO David Bass and the rest of the RC for completing 16 WL2 and WL4 courses, and moving marks between every rotation to keep the course as square as possible for competitors.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
