SAISA Fall Conference Championship

Summary

Saturday, October 27:

Teams were greeted with strong Northwest breeze thanks to the outer bands of Hurricane Sandy. The breeze provided great spectating from the seawall including some big wipeouts. The course was a gold cup and the boats really took off on the reaches. 4 A races and 2 B races were completed. By the last A set the breeze was a consistent 25 knots and the Wallace Boathouse was recording gusts of 30. Prudently the RC called racing for the day. One protest was heard resulting in a DSQ for Eckerd.

Sunday, October 28:

On Sunday there was still plenty of breeze although relatively much lighter than Saturday. With breeze anywhere from the 15-20 knot range the sailors were kept on their toes. Gold cups were run once again and we completed races all the way to 10B. Breakdown points were awarded to Miami after the shackle holding the jib halyard block snapped. Very close racing especially toward the end with Eckerd and Miami fighting for the final ACCs berth. Thanks to all the Eckerd Tritons who helped out this weekend and made the regatta a success.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
