Professor Noringer

Saturday, November 8:

7 races were sailed in 3-8 knots of wind from the SW. The rain held off all day.

1 protest was disallowed and 2 redresses were heard, one granted and one denied.

This trophy honors famed MIT Professor Irving M.A. Noringer. Among other notable inventions, he invented magnetic tape telltales and later made a fortune when he marketed the invention to the recording industry.

Special thanks to the pavilion staff-"Willing" Wally Corwin, Greg Dolanation, Patrick "the Kid" Joyce, Conan "Hammy" Hom, and Eric "Don't Mess With Me" Throop. Thanks to Fran Charles, Dayan Paez, and Alexis Dale for scoring/rotation support and Stan Shreyer and Tom Robinson for hearing protests.

Congratulations to Tufts A division and Salve B division who are now Ringers and are no longer eligible for the Noringer Trophy. And fun was had by all.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
