Emily Wick Trophy

Summary

Saturday, April 8:

A puffy and cold 15 to 25 knot northwesterly wind greeted the twenty women's teams in attendance at the 2017 Emily Wick Trophy at Coast Guard. Ten races per division were completed around W4 racecourses. The early spring conditions provided extreme variability in both velocity and direction often challenging competitors to remain upright. Lighter westerly winds are forecast for tomorrow. Report time is 0930 and we will begin with race 11A at 1000.

Sunday, April 9:

Sunday started out with an unstable northerly fighting it out with a southwesterly. After a two hour delay, one race was completed prior to the southerly change. The remaining races were sailed in an ever improving south to southwester that peaked in the mid teens.

Congratulations to Yale and the winning team of Casey Klingler '18, Christine Klingler '20, Caroline Colwell '18, Louisa Nordstrom '20, Claire Huebner '18, Isabelle Rossi De Leon '17.

Special Thanks to judges Bob LaFrance, Sue Rielly, and Greg Hall.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
