Fall Fury

Summary

Saturday, September 9:

Our new fleet of 420E's were utilized competitively today in their first regatta on Lake Mendota. A division completed 8 races while B division completed 6 races. The sailors experienced 5-10 knots of breeze coming the southeast all day. First warning for race 7B is scheduled for 9:30 tomorrow morning. Forecast shows similar winds conditions for tomorrow and we plan to have another long and competitive day of sailing. Thank you to PRO Kate Klement for completing 14 fair races today. Congratulations to Milwaukee B division for winning all of its races today, putting their team in first place at the end of racing today.

Sunday, September 10:

4 more A division races and 6 more B division races were completed today for a total of 12 races each sailed for this regatta. Wind conditions were similar to the day before, 5-10 knots from the southeast. The final standings were still up in there going into the final race, as can be seen in the final scores with a tie for third in A division, two point separation between first and third in B divsion, and 1 point difference overall for second and third. Congratulations again to UW Milwaukee for winning 15 of the 24 races, along with the regatta. Thanks again to PRO Kate Klement for getting in so many great races, and thanks to all of the volunteers who worked on and off the water to keep the regatta running smoothly. Thanks as well to Brendan Boylan for serving as the chief judge.
