Fall Pacific Coast Championship - 2 Div

Summary

Saturday, November 14:

While it was a beautiful day in Santa Barbara, wind was not part of the equation. The RC never saw above 3 mph and the day ended as complete glass on the water. The sailors had fun tanning on the beach and swimming in the ocean, but no races were sailed today.

The JV course attempted two races that were both abandoned.

Report time has been moved to 9:00am (in conjunction with the PCCSC meeting) First warning signal has been moved up to 10:00am. End time is the same.

Sunday, November 15:

Sunday brought quite the opposite of Saturday's hot, docile conditions. A storm cell brought through some much needed rain and cool weather with gusts into the 20's. 30-45 degree shifts created difficult conditions during the squall, and when it finally passed two races were abandoned as the wind died down to zero knots. Finally a westerly filled and built into a northwest wind later in the day ranging mostly in the teens with occasional puffs in the 20's. Four races were completed for the three divisions despite the large oscillations early in the day.

The Gauchos took home the win for both the Varsity and JV course followed closely by Hawaii and USC on the varsity race course. Thank you to the UCSB students for facilitating race committee.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
