Women's Regis Bowl

Summary

Saturday, September 22:

After waiting out the glassy river conditions, racing started at ~1115AM in a shifty westerly breeze. 2A and 2B races were completed in each division on course 3s and 4s until the breeze died again. After a second wind delay and some drifting around, two more A and B races were completed in a new south-southeasterly breeze that brought big shifts in to shuffle the fleet.

After day 1 the Lady Jumbos are sitting comfortably in the top spot.

Sunday, September 23:

A beautiful day of sailing on the River Charles. The fleet hit the water around 1015 after a short delay to wait for teams caught a the traffic jam from Storrow Drive being shut down. From start to finish the westerly breeze kept the fleet on its toes with winds ranging from 5kts-12kts each coming with their share of drastic left and right hand shifts. 8 races were completed in each division on course 4s and 5s with one 3 to complete the day. The RWU Hawks charge out of the gate strong showing great consistency in the tricky conditions. With a string of firsts throughout their scorelines, the Hawks proved the adage of Terrier-alum Billy Uniack correct showing that "bullets fix everything." The day brought a handful of capsizes and one protest resulting in a DSQ.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
