Roger Williams Invitational

Summary

Saturday, October 6:

The day started off picture perfect with temps in the 70s, and a beautiful southerly breeze with incoming tide. About halfway through the second A set, the breeze really started to build and the tide started to switch. Things got a little ugly once B division took to the water for a second time and racing was called after the 3rd A set.

The 2nd Salve team is a conglomeration team with Salve and J&W.

HUGE thanks to Alyssa Seifert, Eric Schwarm, Shanna Rae Savignano, Scott Booth, Catherine Towner, and Jack Hunger for running races both days.

Sunday, October 7:

As with many venues around New England the breeze didn't quite cooperate. The Race Committee was able to get 2 more races off in B and A, but couldn't finish the complimentary B set in the finicky conditions. Ultimately only 6 races were sailed over the weekend. And once again a distance race was considered, but we couldn't quite execute.

Congrats to our neighbors to the north, the Brown Bears, on a great event.

Again, great work by the undergrad Alyssa Seifert, Eric Schwarm, Shanna Rae Savignano, Scott Booth, Catherine Towner, and Jack Hunger.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
