Great sailing on Lake Virginia! Two rounds were completed in a puffy and shifty SE 7- 12kt breeze. Races averaged ten minutes in length. USF Bulls swept the day with a perfect 10-0 record, followed by Jacksonville, Miami, and then Rollins to round out the Top 4.
Big thanks to the Tars sailors who helped run an efficient and fair day. Also, thank you to the coaches who umpired.
A final round-robin is scheduled for tomorrow in what's forecasted to be a sporty day on the lake.
Sport mode activated! One round was completed today in 10-15kt SW breeze with textbook Lake Virginia variability in breeze velocity and angle. Larger gusts into the high teens and low twenties made their way down the race course towards the last flights in the round.
USF Bulls put the conference on notice as they carried momentum forward on the day, finishing the regatta on top with a perfect 15-0 record. University of Miami and Jacksonville University round out the podium tied with 9-6 records with UM winning the tiebreaker on a 2-1 head-to-head record. The home team finished fourth at 7-8.
Thank you to the entire regatta management team and umpires for their hard work throughout this regatta. Safe travels home to all the competitors!
