Persistence in the face of a questionable forecast was rewarded as neither the forecasted rain nor 25kt gusts materialized. While still overcast, precipitation was minimal and the breeze was a light to moderate northerly - still very puffy and shifty but with gusts only occasionally over 10kts with some very light patches in between. Thankfully the oscillations were over a fairly consistent range, so minimal course adjustments were needed to keep the course on the average of the shifts and races running continuously. Two full round robins were sailed with competitive matchups between all teams. Most teams sent sailors for whom this is their first season (or, in many cases, first regatta) of college team racing and all were excited to have the opportunity to compete at an appropriate level to develop their skills.
Congratulations to Brown on winning the Alymers and also to Fairfield for winning 2 races, their first team race wins in the history of Techschore!
Thanks to Dane Phippen Bentley '23 for calling the start, Andrew Reynolds Wentworth '18 for calling the finish, Harvard head coach Mike O'Connor for serving as NEISA Rep and allowing us to host, and MIT Sailing for loaning us a substitute signal boat while Harvard's was away at another event. - Jared Reineck, PRO
