After a great start in big seas and a steady westerly breeze of 14-18 knots, things got a little crazy during race B3 as winds quickly increased to 28 knots! Racing was abruptly abandoned and all boats were sent ashore. After regrouping, race B3 was re-sailed and B4 was completed. With a threat of storms in the area and rumbles of thunder in the skies, racing was ended for the day.
An additional 12 races were sailed in a steady westerly breeze of 12-14 knots, which made for some great sailing. All races were completed by 3pm. Congratulations to the University of Virginia for the win! Congrats also to George Washington University and Hampton University, who along with the University of Virginia, qualified for the America Trophy!
