Short Beach Invitational

Summary

Saturday, April 17:

Saturday: Grey skies, occasional showers, and a light and shifty northerly greeted sailors this weekend for the opening of the Short Beach invitational. 4 races were completed before lunch in a shifty northerly. One more race was completed after lunch as the breeze shifted to north-west. A sixth race was attempted in a building southwesterly before lightening forced sailors off the water. One request for redress resulted in a BKD and average points were awarded.

Sunday: Racing was postponed till 10:30 while waiting for the promised Westerly. Five races were sailed in a 5-15 knot building southwesterly breeze. Congratulations to Brown who took 1-2 for the weekend. Many thanks to Yale alumnus George Malcolmson '03 who ran races all weekend. No protests were filed all weekend.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
