Open Atlantic Coast Championship Final

Summary

Sunday, October 20:

An unseasonably warm weekend brought unusually light winds to the Atlantic Coast Championship Final. Four A and three B races were completed on Saturday in a 4-6 knot sea breeze. Many races were abandoned when conditions became too light. A redress hearing was held on Sunday morning, leading to the abandonment of race 4a, however a subsequent hearing reinstated the race and adjusted scores for three boats. Sunday's racing saw a bit more breeze out of the southwest at up to 8 knots by the end of the day.

Many thanks to all our race officials: PROs Hannah Lynn and Alden Reid; mark boat operators Colleen O'Brien, Michala O'Brien, Jack Plavan, and Libby Redmond; and our CHief Judge Sawyer Balint & judges Drew Cluterbuck, Moose McClintock, Emi Ruth, and Yumi Yoshiyasu. Thanks also goes to Harvard and MIT sailing who loaned equipment for the event.

Congratulations to the 2024 Atlantic Coast Championship winners, the Stanford Cardinal.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
