Monroe Mania

Summary

Saturday, October 5:

Saturday marked the first day of Indiana University's Monroe Mania regatta at Lake Monroe Sailing Association in Bloomington, Indiana. We had a total of five boats racing which were Saint Mary's College, University of Notre Dame, University of Toledo and two teams that represented IU.

The course for the weekend was a typical W2 course which included an offset and downwind gate. Both A and B fleet sailed only two races with a postponement due to low wind which eventually led to the end of racing for Saturday because of low expectations of the wind improving. The day ended with the LMSA manager hosting a cookout for all the teams and high excitement for racing on Saturday.

Sunday, October 6:

On Sunday, both A and B fleet were able to complete two full rotations, resulting in a total of five races that concluded the regatta. The wind conditions looked much more promising than Saturday with a wind speed of 12-15 knots.

A huge shoutout to LMSA and all of IU's club members that helped out, we were able to host an organized and successful regatta. We announced the top three finishes for each fleet as well as the overall finishes for the regatta. Congratulations to Notre Dame on their victory!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
