Luce Regatta

Racing began just after 1000 in a light northerly. A fleet completed one race before the wind died. RC sent boats in and postponed on shore. The postponement was extended each half hour until 1600 when A division returned to the water to attempt another race. Conditions did not allow for another her race to be started and racing was called for th day at 1630. One request for redress was heard and disallowed. Teams will return to continue racing Sunday at 0900.

Conditions this morning were calm and foggy. Sailors postponed on shore until 1230, when a slight breeze picked up, hoping to get racing underway. Velocity and bearing shifts made racing impossible, and sailors returned to the dock at 1300. With no improvement at 1330 boats we're pulled up onto the docks. At 1345, the decision was made that conditions would not allow for races to continue with enough time to get 3 races in each division to constitute a regatta. Thank you to each team who made the drive down to Chestertown and tried to get races done. Thank you WAC sailors for running RC and Mark boats for trying to get the course set promptly during the weekend.
