Today's regatta saw a light northerly breeze (5-7kts) until about 1:00pm when it gradually strengthened. The forecasted easterly never materialized, and the breeze remained inconsistent in both strength and direction. We sailed the last set with an oscillating 10-13 kts, and a bit of rain.
Current was a significant factor, starting with a strong downcourse flow and switching halfway through the day, culminating in a strong upcourse/right-to-left flow by the final set.
Eight races were completed in each division, just shy of the nine-race target. One protest was filed, but was dropped on land. Another protest was disallowed due to failure to comply with filing rules.
Congrats to the sailors from Jacksonville University and University of Miami for taking the podium at the inaugural Dick Allsopp Trophy.
