Buckeye Invitational

Summary

Saturday, September 18:

Saturday at Hoover sailing club was marked by beautiful warm weather, but light and very shifty wind. After a short postponement, the sailors went out. While the water was mainly glassy, a few puffs occasionally blew through and allowed the competitors to complete 2 rotations for a total of 8 races.

Tomorrow's forecast calls for the same amount of wind, and races will commence with race '5A'. With first, second and third all pretty close, the competition will be tough tomorrow!

Sunday, September 19:

While the sailors were ready to sail, the wind was not there. After an hour and half under AP, racing was abandoned.

Our top three teams in A, B and overall were the same and in the same order. With 23 points overall, we had University of Toledo who was following just 2 points behind Michigan State University. The winner of the regatta was one of MCSA's newest additions: University of Cincinnati with 15 points!

Thank you to everyone who came out and sailed this weekend! Especially thank you to the PRO and RC for getting in races despite the light air!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
