Atlantic Coast Tournament

Summary

Saturday, October 23:

Day one of the 2021 Atlantic Coast Tournament began with a shoreside postponement until 1400. A southerly eventually settled in enough for the first two races of A division in the Annapolis Harbor. By the time B division came out after the rotation, the breeze shifted hard west. One B race was sailed in the westerly before that too died. Right as the RC was about to call the day off, an eight knot northerly filled in the Severn River and the second B race was sailed as the sun set. No protests were filed. Everyone is looking forward to a windier day tomorrow.

Sunday, October 24:

Day two of the 2021 Atlantic Coast Tournament brought a steady 8-10 knot south east breeze. The race course was set in the middle of the severn river, right off the navy sea wall. Six races were completed in each division and the weather marks only had to get moved once all day. Three protests were filed that resulted in three DSQs. Thank you to Bern Noack, Johnny Norfleet and Mitch Brindley for hearing the protests. Congratulations to SUNY Maritime College for winning the 2021 Atlantic Coast Tournament!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
