Luce Trophy

Summary

Saturday, September 22:

Beautiful day of racing in Northerly breezes from 4-10k on the St. Mary's River. Tons of recreational sailors, paddle boards, kayaks and swimmers all enjoyed watching the racing. Grace Papp served as PRO and ripped off 18 races (10A/8B). The first set in each division were all W-4's and all ensuing sets were W-4's followed by W-3's. MAISA Rep Dave Coughlin (Columbia) made a welcome return to the coaching ranks after a multi-decade hiatus. One protest and one redress were heard by Dave and Max Plarr (CNU)--neither hearing resulted in a scoring change.

Sunday, September 23:

While the sailing conditions were just great after the first, somewhat flukey B div race, the rain was not inspirational for anyone. 7 more races completed just inside the time limit. Congratulations to CNU, Stevens and Washington College for earning the final remaining MAISA berths at War and Showcase regattas!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
