Jen Harris Women's

It was a challenging first day at the Jen Harris Women's Showcase Regatta. We started racing in a nice 5-10 knot NW breeze with the course set right off the Robert Crown Center in the Severn River. The wind died during race 4B and we came in for a wind delay at 1200. At 1400, the wind filled in from the SE at 3-6 knots and we ran some more races off Triton Point. There was significant powerboat traffic on the course and the breeze was spotty. The wind died totally during race 8B, which was abandoned, and racing was called for the day.

At first on Sunday, the sky was overcast and the wind was N 3-5. We set a course off Triton Point and sailed race 8B. The wind died at the end of the race and we went back to shore for a while. The sun came out and the breeze filled in at 3-5 from the SE in the afternoon. We sent the fleet back out at 1:30 and got in 1 more set before the 3 PM cutoff. Congratulations to the top 9 for qualifying for the Women's Showcase Final and to the Cornell Big Red for winning the Jen Harris Women's Showcase.
