Teams arrived to the Merrill Family Sailing Center with the lake glassed off. The expected forecast was a light northerly breeze around 12pm. Sailors waited ashore until finally the breeze trickled in from the North at 1pm. The breeze filled nicely at 6-8kts and the first start went off at 1:30pm. We were able to get through 4A & 4B races until the breeze shut off.
One protest was filed from Queens resulting in a DSQ for Fordham in race 2B. No breakdowns filed. No general recalls and all races were W4's.
Tomorrow's forecast appears to be quite similar to today, we expect the breeze to fill, but not until about 12 or 1pm.
Sailors arrived to glass again and we waited around until the breeze began to fill around 12pm. It filled quickly with good pressure around 8-10 kts. Breeze freshened up to 10-12 kts and we were able to complete 3A and 3B races to finish the day. In total 7 races per division.
There were two protests filed, Queens & Fordham filed against each other in race 6B. Queens received a DSQ, thank you to Judges Scott Ikle and Mary Kate Mezzetti.
HWS, Cornell, NYM, and Fordham qualify for the War.
