SEISA Match Racing Championship

Summary

Saturday, September 28:

Two round robins totaling 20 races were run under partly sunny skies, 14-18 knots from the southeast. Occasional thunderstorms in the area sent the fleet ashore for about 30 minutes. Temperatures in the low 80s. Texas A&M Galveston and University of Western Florida competed in the best of five final round, with UWF winning the event 3-0. Tulane, Texas A&M, and Baylor competed in the petit final, with Tulane winning that portion of the event in a double round robin of three teams. Texas Corinthian Yacht Club hosted the event and provided sailboats, marks, powerboats, umpires and race committee. Special thanks go to the following members of TCYC: Stewart Masterson, Laura Masterson, Tony Smythe, Eric Ellis, Laurie Daniel, Charles Milby and Charlie Milby; and to members of the A&M Galveston sailing team who co-hosted the event: Paige Meineke and Julia Grosso. During the event, two request for redress were submitted; all were denied.
