Nicholas J. Barnett Trophy

Summary

Saturday, October 8:

A tough day for breeze at Bethel Point. The breeze was light and variable most of the morning. A nice 6-8 knot sea breeze filled in at 1:45 pm which allowed for a full set to be completed. The third A race was sailed in a dying SE breeze before racing was cancelled for the day.

A big thanks to Mark Dinneen '08 for running the mark boat, Tom Charpentier '10 with scoring, and all the Polar Bears for helping with land ops. A special thanks goes out to the Barnett family that provided food and beverages for the competitors.

Sunday, October 9:

Nine races were sailed in a light a shifty breeze that ranged from WSW to NW. Courses were W-3s an W-4s. A big thanks to Mark Dinnen '08 for moving marks and to Charlotte Williamson '15, Elise Engquist '15, and Michael Croteau '15 for helping with RC, handing the scoring, and running the land OPS.

The top three teams were separated by two points going into the last race. The Polar Bears won the race but the Big Green from Dartmouth came in second, thus securing their win of the Barnett Trophy.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
