Southern Series 7

Summary

Saturday, April 29:

The Southern Series 7 at URI was met with a southwest breeze with a range of 50 degrees throughout the day, starting around 7 knots and building to 15 knots. Sunny skies and flat water greeted the competitors as temperatures approached 70 degrees Fahrenheit. A combined division sailed 10 races in URI's whitecap FJ's, from 1130 - 1630 just south of Gardiner's Island and Camp Fuller. All courses were W4's. One protest was filed with a resulting DSQ.

Thanks to all URI sailors helping with this event: PRO Matt Gibbs '18, Nick Chaloux '20, Jack Hurley '18, Garrett Connelly '19, Karel Mailloux '18, and many others. Special thanks to Alumni Matt Sola '15 for running the mark boat.
