Jeff Simon Memorial Regatta

Summary

Saturday, February 4:

This regatta is dedicated to former Captain Jeff Simon who passed away in 2007 due to cancer. Races started at 11 AM with a solid 10-12 kts Northern wind lasting the whole day. It was a nice warm 70 F day and we finished 5 races in A Division and 5 in B Division. We ran a windward leeward course with a windward offset. We also would like to welcome San Diego State University to the conference and their first regatta of the year!

Sunday, February 5:

Races were postponed until 12:00 due to low wind. However, the rest of the day picked up to 8 kts gusting 10 from the west. Rotation A started the day with 3 races and B ended the regatta with 3 races with a total of 8 races for both devisions. We ended at 3:15 PM and would like to congratulate Cal Poly San Louis Obispo on their first regatta win. They won with a total of 44 points followed by USC with 62 Points. We would like to thank everyone for coming and our Alumni for volunteering for Race Committee. We also raised $750 dollars which will be donated to the Autism Tree Project Foundation.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
