Vietor Trophy

Saturday, March 21:

Below freezing temperatures greeted sailors as they arrived for the noon report time Saturday, March 21st. Coast Guard Cadets worked hard to clear boats and the docks of snow in attempt to create a safe sailing environment. It was decided that the conditions of the docks were unsafe and the regatta was further delayed. Once the temperature broke into above freezing temperatures, the sun came out and the conditions drastically improved. The first race took place at 2:15 pm in a 5-10 knot southerly. Throughout the rest of the afternoon the breeze slowly clocked right towards the Southwest and eventually West before the racing was called for the day around 6:00 pm. 5 races in each division.

Sunday, March 22:

Sunday racing at the Vietor was called at 9:45 am for unsafe sailing conditions. The temperature highs for the day were not supposed to be above freezing and the wind gusts seen at CGA in the morning were upwards of 25 knots.

Congratulations URI for a well sailed regatta. Thank you CGA cadets for running races and creating fair and safe sailing despite trying conditions.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
