Charleston Spring Co-Ed

Summary

Saturday, February 15:

The strong westerly winds on the Cooper River did not allow for any racing today. We will have a 9:00 harbor start tomorrow. Hopefully there is wind!

Sunday, February 16:

Sailors launched their boats in a 5-7 knot westerly and headed to Crab Bank for a 9:30 start. As things warmed up and the sun came out the wind died. Race 1 A & B were canceled, Crab Bank was a mirror as the tide began to ebb. The southerly began to slowly fill in and racing got started right at noon. Six W4's with offsets and gates were completed in each division. The wind swung to the east and filled in to some nice hiking conditions before backing to the south for the last 2 races. The wind was very unstable and current was a factor! One protest was heard resulting in a DSQ. Thanks to Sam Stokes, Max Plarr, and Jon Faudree for hearing the protest. No breakdowns were filed despite one torn main sheet and a broken tiller extension. Congrats to the Gauchos on the win!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
