Eckerd Intersectional

Summary

Saturday, March 2:

Day one of the Eckerd Intersectional started with a cold front rolling through. We had just a few minutes of rain and cloudy conditions. The morning was slow with a late start, a R/C mistake, and a wind shifting greatly as the front cleared out. Just four races were sailed before lunch in 8-12 knots. After lunch the sun came out and the breeze settled into a NW direction. 8 races were sailed in 12-15 knots with some gusts over 20.

Sunday, March 3:

The wind started off well right of and much lower than forecasted. The first race was started just before 10 in 6-8 knots out of the NE. Shifty conditions from this direction made racing and running races challenging. A couple races had to be called back to adjust the course. After the last abandoned race the forecasted breeze filled in for the last two races that were sailed in 8-10 from the NNW.

Congratulations to the Charleston Cougars for winning the 2013 Eckerd Intersectional.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
