Greater New York Dinghy Regatta

Summary

Saturday, April 21:

Fordham and Columbia welcomed sailors into the New York City area this morning with world famous H & H Bagels and fresh orange juice.

Eastchester Bay provided the perfect variety of conditions throughout the day. Winds ranged from 6-18 mph. 17 Races were completed in a steady S/SE wind. 9A and 8B were completed. Racing will resume with A division at 9:30 tomorrow morning. We will conclude the racing at 14A and 14B.

There were three no-shows for this event: RPI, Hamilton, and Stevens. There was a small delay in the racing this morning so that the rotation could be changed.

Sunday, April 22:

April Showers Bring May Flowers...

Racing resumed on Sunday with race 10A. Sailors battled through a shifty 6-12 mph N/NE breeze that brought driving rain into the area. There were no protests, but a number of 720's were witnessed by the race committee. Thanks to all of the Fordham Rams, and Columbia Lions who worked hard to run a very smooth event.

Congratulations to Tufts, the winners of the Greater New York Dinghy Regatta. We hope to have another strong turn out next year.

Drexel reported to the site, but did not sail. Their car was broken into last night and all of their gear was stolen.*

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
