Oberg Trophy

Summary

Saturday, April 16:

Saturday started off cold with winds at 20+ knots from the east. The sailors pushed through a wind chill of 30 degrees and rain to get off 8 races for the A division and 6 races for the B division.

Unfortunately Conn College and RWU dropped; PC and Bates did not show. Dartmouth brought an extra team so a total of 14 boats were out on the water.

The sailors today sailed a nice, fair game. No protests were filed however two boats were charged with OCS during the final race.

Sunday, April 17:

Sunday was a mix of good weather and rain. The weather would switch almost every set from sunny to rainy. The wind was very strong at a constant 20+ knots from the west with its strength only growing as the day went on. A total of 13 races were done to end the trophy

Again the sailors had no disputes today. No protests were filed however one boat filed for redress for a broken hiking strap. The race committee also had to charge Teams Vermont and MIT with a team penalty for improperly filling out their RP forms.

Northeastern would like to thank BU and the workers at the BU Pavilion for providing us their facilities for this regatta. We would also like to thank Ben Spiller for his assistance in managing the races the first day and providing support when needed. Tristan Lodge is also thanked for his help with race committee on Sunday and providing support throughout the day.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
