Central Series 1

Summary

Saturday, March 19:

Competitors for Central Series 1 hosted by Boston College experienced ideal conditions in Dorchester Bay. Eight teams were in attendance making for great combined division racing. Racing began in the morning with a northwest breeze ranging from 10-20 knots. After a short delay to reset the course, racing continued in a northeast breeze ranging from 15-20 knots. Extremely large tides led to very strong current and an early last race due to low water. Eight W-2s were sailed with windward offsets and leeward gates. Thanks to the Boston College undergrads for helping run the event.

Sunday, March 20:

Once again competitors were greeted with a great day at Savin Hill YC in Dorechester Bay. Racing began on a very cold morning in a northeast breeze ranging from 5-10 knots. As the temperature began to rise the breeze was pulled to the east, after a short delay to reset the course, racing continued in a easterly breeze ranging from 5-10 knots. Five W-2s were completed with windward offsets and leeward gates. Due to another extremely large tide, racing ended early after a long morning session and no lunch break. Thanks again to the Boston College undergrads for helping run an early season event.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
