SAISA South Points #5

Summary

Saturday, March 27:

SP 5, hosted by Univ of Miami and Coconut Grove Sailing Club

The day started out sunny, but with an untypically light wind and from the wrong direction (60-75 degrees). After a short teaser to a more normal 135 degrees, the wind settled back to 60-75 degrees for most of the day, with occasional moves to 90 degrees. The wind velocity started out at about 4 knts and we began racing at 11AM. The wind slowly built to about 10 knts by 12:30 (race 4) and was between 10-12 knots for the rest of the afternoon. Racing was finished by 4 PM after 16 races and a full rotation. There were no protests filed, and after a barbeque for the sailors people were on the road by 5PM. We would like to thank the UM afterguard for their support, Coconut Grove Sailing Club for hosting the event, and Fred Moffet (UM alum) and Ransom Everglades High School for lending us a piece of their dock for the day.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
