Henry Luce Trophy - MAISA

Summary

Saturday, October 14:

Not a great forecast for Cayuga Lake today and unfortunately it was correct. A light southerly allowed for 1 race in A Division before a long wind delay. It filled again around 2:30pm and we completed race 2A but quickly died off again. The lake was glassed off at 4pm and we called racing for the day.

Tomorrow's forecast will definitely bring some wind...hopefully not too much.

Report time is moved to 8:30am.

No protests, redress or breakdowns filed.

Sunday, October 15:

The first race of the day went off as scheduled at 9am in a puffy southerly breeze around 7-10 kts. The start of race 4A was in more breeze around 12-15 kts but conditions were still up and down. During the second B set we saw our first glimpse of the forecasted 20+ breeze. As A came out for race 7 breeze was sustained at 18 kts and gusting consistently over 20. With the forecast calling for it to increase even more we made the decision to run race 7B quickly to even up the races and call racing for the day at 1pm.

All races on Sunday were on a trapezoid course. 1 protest was filed between UVA and CNU but ultimately withdrawn.

6 teams qualified for the War Memorial in two weeks at HWS - Hampton, CNU, Columbia, Villanova, Stevens, and UVA.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
