Atlantic Coast Tournament

Summary

Saturday, November 12:

Saturday of the Atlantic Coast Tournament started out under a sunny sky with temperatures in the 40s. When we left the dock, the wind was out of the NW at 10-15, but it quickly dropped below 10 before racing started. The wind stayed out of the NW the rest of the day, but significant pressure and directional changes made racing very tricky. For most of the day, the current was coming in against the wind. 8 W4 races were completed per division.

Sunday, November 13:

Sunday was another beautiful, sunny day with temperatures in the high 50s and low 60s. The wind started out out of the NW at 5-10 knots, but quickly shifted W and became extremely variable. 4 races were sailed per division before the wind died and we came in for a lunch break. After lunch, we went back out and sailed 2 more races in the harbor in a light SE breeze. Congratulations to Connecticut College for winning the 2016 Atlantic Coast Tournament.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
