Radial Open

Summary

Saturday, September 12:

Saturday was a stormy day in Annapolis, but we were able to get some good racing in on the first day of the Radial Open. Approaching storms caused a postponement in the morning and we waited until 1030 to rig the boats. We set a course in the Severn River off the Robert Crown Center in about 15 knots out of the Southeast. Waves were about 3 feet, making for some awesome Laser Radial sailing conditions. All races were W4s. The wind decreased throughout the day and during race 5, a rain squall poured down on the fleet as the wind switched to every possible direction and then died completely. After that race, racing was called for the day.

Sunday, September 13:

Sunday was a near perfect day of sailing at Navy. Temperatures hovered in the low 70s under partly cloudy skies. The wind blew from the NW at 10-15 all day and the course was set right off the Robert Crown Center in the Severn River. On the day 8 races were completed, bringing the regatta total to 13. Rick Sellars was out helping with Race Committee all weekend and Mary Hall was on the water enforcing rule 42.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
