CanAm Cup

Summary

Saturday, October 3:

Racing started at 10:30, with Fleet A. Race 1A was sailed in 17knots, gusting up to 20knots. The wind was out from the North-East, with short, steep waves. PSU decided to remain on shore, and University of Rochester retired from the first rotation due to the breezier conditions. Most racers completed race 1A. Race 2A began with similar conditions, but in the second lap the waves became quite large and the wind was read at 26knots. Only 6 boats finished race 2A. The rotation was completed, but no racing for Fleet B was completed due to the windspeed. Racing was called off for the day at 1430. Racing will resume tomorrow at 1000, with Fleet B.

Sunday, October 4:

Racing began on time with Fleet B, completing the first rotation. With a shorter course, and breeze at 10knots, we got off a lot of races. We ended the regatta with Fleet A and Fleet B completing one race each, with Fleet B beginning a race 3 seconds before the Last Possible Start limit of 1500. The purpose of this was to make up for yesterday where only two races were sailed. Queens Gaels 1 took first place, followed by Queens Gaels 2 and Concordia in third.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
