SAISA South Points #5

Summary

Saturday, October 12:

Another beautiful day on Biscayne Bay, with a first hint of morning coolness signaling that fall may finally be on its way. The morning got off to a slow start waiting for the breeze to fill in, but it finally showed up at 3-5 kts from the east and built to about 10 kts by the end of the afternoon. Very steady all day with just a progressive 10 degree right shift as the breeze came up, which made for an easy day for the RC. Racing started at 10:50 and ended at 3:00. Three sets were sailed in each of A and B on a modified W-L course, twice around. The sailors enjoyed the day and are congratulated for sailing a Corinthian regatta - no protests were filed and one breakdown was recorded.

Back at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club - UMiami's home port - the crews grabbed a quick burger and rehashed some races before hitting the road. Congrats to The Eckerd Tritons for winning the day. Thanks to the UMiami afterguard and members of the UM SailingCanes for helping to run a smooth regatta, and to Ransom Everglades School for the loan of a floating dock.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
