Racing started promptly at 10am in challenging conditions. The combination of strong current and a light shifty breeze made it difficult to get races off in the morning. In the afternoon a more stable 12-16kt breeze from the NW allowed for eight races in each division.
Sailors were sent out in a dying Northerly breeze and attempted race 9A which was quickly abandoned. After 2 hours spent on shore in postponement waiting for conditions to normalize, three races in each division were completed for a total of 11 races.
