Southern Series 6

Summary

Saturday, October 17:

Saturday: Wind was 17 mph gusting to 22 mph. Temperature was a chilly 40. We had some initial difficulties with the first set of rotations. Sailors had difficulty landing boats between the finger docks and several capsizes occurred. We finished 3 full sets and had several breakdowns in addition to a handful of DNSs and DNFs. Look forward to trying to get out on the water tomorrow. Report time 9:30 am.

Sunday: Strong winds and rains lived up to the forecast. Division A was sent out to rig, but during which the wind picked up another 5-10 mph. Regatta was called due to unsafe conditions.

Thanks to Brown for use of some of their FJs as well as all the PC sailors that helped out to make the regatta run smoothlly: Cole, Julie, Alex, and Mary.

Special thanks to our RC (PC alum Pat Broome) and alum Amy Lyons for running the mark boat. Many thanks also to Coast Guard's A skipper for jumping in the water on Saturday to "California Roll" a capsized boat in the fingers.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
